Statuette of Saint Rita

Statuette of Saint Rita

The origin of Saint Rita:

Rita de Cascia, née Margherita Lotti was an Italian widow and Augustinian nun venerated as a saint in the Roman Church.

After her husband's death, she joined an Augustinian community of nuns, where she was known both for practicing mortification of the flesh and for the effectiveness of her prayers. She is depicted with a bleeding wound on her forehead, indicating a partial stigmata.

Rita became the patron saint of abused wives and broken-hearted women.

His intact body remains in the Basilica of Santa Rita da Cascia.

Delivered in a cardboard case, molded in resin and hand painted in our Marseille workshops.
